Photon Counting Case Reviews
Our team is currently evaluating GE HealthCare’s Photonova Spectra Photon Counting CT scanner. This photon counting technology uses 8-bin silicon based detectors. Our scanner is the first system of its kind installed worldwide. As part of our ongoing research, our team is exploring the technology’s capabilities, image quality, and potential clinical applications across a variety of imaging scenarios.
This collection of case reviews highlights some of the photon counting CT examinations being performed at UW–Madison. Each case review includes the clinical indication, relevant findings, contrast and dose information. Users will be able to view the PC images through a link to Collective Minds and also view the clinical scan protocol. Our goal is to share our experience, showcase the capabilities of this technology and provide insight into how photon counting CT may be used to address different imaging needs.
At this time, our photon counting examinations are being performed both as part of ongoing research and for standard-of-care clinical imaging. We invite you to explore the cases below to learn more about our early experience with photon counting CT and the additional benefits we are discovering along the way.
