C-TECC highly values outside experiences and perspectives. In an effort to optimize the translation of advanced techniques, specifically in photon counting, the C-TECC team consults with outside experts. Through this collaboration, we hope to reaffirm the quality of C-TECC output.
The sixth biennial meeting of the Medical Advisory Board (MAB) to the University of Wisconsin and GE Healthcare CT Protocol Optimization Partnership occurred virtually the week of November 3, 2025.
The purpose of the MAB is to ensure UW CT protocols are fully up to date, taking advantage of new technological advances, and incorporating new and novel research supported ideas into the field.
The CT Protocol team enlists the help of clinical radiologists from across the country with CT expertise in the subspecialties of Abdominal, Chest, Cardiovascular, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, and Pediatrics. The first MAB met in 2015 to collaborate and share their unique expertise for improving upon the first generation of the UW CT protocols. Additional MAB’s were held every two years after, with sessions being held virtually starting in 2021. Over the years, additional areas of expertise have been added–CT Protocol Impact on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Dual-Energy (GSI) to name a few.
Beginning in 2023, the MAB expanded its focus to Photon Counting CT, offering dedicated sessions as well as incorporating the topic into session-specific discussions.
These virtual meetings are held over the course of a week allowing board members to attend their subspecialty session, as well as numerous individual breakout sessions in which they have specific knowledge and experience.
